Tom for You Tom for Me

"Revona, do your next post on Toms" said my lovely friend and co-worker Dora, after I screeched "Eep my friend Bernard wants another post" yes, Bernard is a guy (But I'm happy that my audience is not just female based).

Anyway..

Toms! What are they, well they're what Zac Efron (pictured above) has on his feet, they're a pair of canvas or corduroy shoes that people seem to be purchasing, for overseas trips, school shoes, and yes ladies they even come in Wedges style (as pictured below).

They're not just celeb inspired, comfy and fashionably styling with this seasons Wedges line but they are made for a good cause.

The One for One Movement  is an organisation founded in 2006 by an American traveler named Blake Mycoskie, he befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.

So although we are totally privileged with shoes on our feet, some children grow up barefoot, meaning soil transmitted diseases are easier for them to get.

Want to know what you can do?

Log on to the Toms Website to learn more or pick up a pair of TOMS through my Style Steal section.

WHY?

BECAUSE 'WITH EVERY PAIR YOU PURCHASE, TOMS WILL GIVE A NEW PAIR OF SHOES TO A CHILD IN NEED.' ONE FOR ONE

'Pump' it Girls

Cleaning.... yes we apparently were programmed to clean (well so the men in our lives think so) but wouldn't it be great to get a workout while you do?

I flipped through a lifestyle magazine today and came across something that caught my eye... well my eye and my feet, well and my legs - you may not like vacuuming but your carves, bum and thighs will thank you later.

Vacuuming in heels will workout your legs in all areas, yes I did try it and felt like a Desperate Housewife, but I also felt like my legs strained to keep up with the intensity of cleaning..... yep! a total workout.

Alright so we decided that vacuuming can be done in heels... but could we exercise in heels? Apparently  NOT! It's not safe and we don't want to hold up real emergencies that are happening.

But there are ways to work out while you're wearing heels and I don't mean pole dancing. Dr Maria Angela from the University of Verona, Italy (yes I looked this up) studied women in heels and found that 'wearing heels can strengthen pelvic and abdominal muscles (yes ladies, having children will be alot easier).

Heels will also make your legs look longer (if you're short like me) and will also make you look leaner and slender.

Who loves confidence?

WE ALL DO.... and heels will do it for you.. walk with confidence and make sure 'The Shoe Fits'
